CSP Global’s Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice offers a flexible online format, allowing you to study on your schedule. Choose from two career-connected tracks:
- Minnesota (MN) Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Licensing Eligibility Track (MN POST-Certified)
- Non-POST Criminal Justice System (CJS) Track
Following graduation, students who choose the MN POST Licensing Eligibility Track will be eligible for the SKILLS component and the MN POST Licensing Exam. Those in the Non-POST CJS Track will be prepared for any criminal justice career outside of law enforcement; this track is also a good option for those who are already licensed police officers.
In addition to the 120-credit program, we offer a reduced 90-credit program option, which requires fewer electives, lower overall tuition, and allows you to graduate in 1-3 years. Request info to learn more.

Curriculum
The online criminal justice bachelor’s degree program provides a science perspective through the general education core, plus 36 credit hours in the major. You’ll study a career-connected curriculum that explores the foundations of the criminal justice system, research methods, cultural considerations, constitutional and criminal law, and legal dilemmas. The 90-credit program option requires fewer electives and can be completed in three years or less, getting you to graduation and into your career sooner.

Admissions Requirements
To apply for the B.S. in Criminal Justice online from Concordia University, St. Paul, you’ll need:
- Completed online application
- Submit official transcripts from your previous regionally accredited institution(s) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 based on a 4.0 system.
- If you have attended a MNSCU college or university we also ask that you provide an official accompanying DARS or MnTC goal area worksheet. CSP Global accepts completed goal areas.
- Transfer students with fewer than 20 college credits completed will also need to submit an official high school transcript.
- Additional Requirements
- Access to a computer that meets CSP Global’s technology requirements.
- Students who do not meet initial admissions criteria may be asked to complete the academic success essay and/or provide additional documentation.

The program has been approved by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) for academic licensure requirements and continuing education credits toward annual licensure. Students choose between a Minnesota POST licensure track and a non-POST track.

Yes. The degree prepares you for corporate security management, loss prevention, private investigation, security consulting, and leadership roles in security firms. The curriculum covers criminal law and related topics. See the Careers tab.
The Forensic Science and Technology course covers crime scene management, forensic investigations, evidence collection and analysis, and courtroom admissibility. The program does not offer a forensics or cybercrime specialization. See the Courses tab.
Yes. The program is fully online and asynchronous, so you can complete coursework around shift work and rotating schedules.
It depends on your transfer credits, your pace, and whether you choose the 90-credit or 120-credit option. With no transfer credits, the 120-credit degree takes about four years full time. The 90-credit option is shorter, and transfer credits shorten either option.
